Vodafone Fiji Under 20 goalkeeper Misiwani Nairube has said they will continue to give a 100 percent in their next match of the FIFA Under 20 World Cup against Uzbekistan.
Nairube, who was instrumental in the 3-0 victory over Honduras yesterday, keeping the Central Americans’ attack at bay for the entire 90 minutes, especially in the second half, during which he pulled off several important saves, said they will try to pull another upset.
He said they are incredibly proud of yesterday’s win and they really did not expect it.
The Ba goalkeeper said this is a wonderful position for them to be in and they have everything to play for.
Meanwhile, coach Frank Farina said they had planned to press Honduras high up the pitch right from the start, and that’s how it played out.
He said they have a reputation for defensive football, but they showed that they know where the goal is.
Fiji now needs to win against Uzbekistan to qualify for the Round of 16.
A draw will even take us through to the eliminations if Germany beats Honduras in its last group match.
Fiji will play Uzbekistan at 2pm this Sunday.
