Shane Morris will be replacing Rick Stone as the new Vodafone Fiji Bati head coach.
Stone has signed up as head coach for the Newcastle Knights for the next two years.
Morris was the Fiji National Rugby League game development manager from April 2004 to December 2006.
He established the schools rugby league competition in Suva and Nadi, setting up a national pathway from school boys to senior rugby league known as the "Boys to Bati" program.
FNRL chairman Reverend Immanuel Reuben said they had gone through his record and he seemed to be the best candidate for the top job.
Reuben adds that Morris was also the technical adviser for the Nabua Broncos and Nadi Eels and has a lot of experience in the sport having just finished coaching in Papua New Guinea.
Morris was the club and community development manager for the Brisbane Broncos from 2010‑2011.
