Vodafone Fiji 7s speedster Samisoni Viriviri has created history after winning the IRB Sevens Player of the Year award for the 2013/2014 season.
Viriviri beat South African captain Kyle Brown, England captain Tom Mitchell and New Zealand player Tim Mikkelson.
Since its inception in 2004, no Fiji 7s team player has ever won the award.
Viriviri has electric pace and a sharp eye for the tryline and his clinical finishing has helped Fiji to win in Dubai and Tokyo.
He scores at the rate of one try per game, with more than 50 this season.
Viriviri will also bid farewell to the Fiji 7s team in London as he is expected to join Montpellier Rugby Club in France.
Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji 7s team finished fourth at the England 7s tournament after losing 26-19 to England in the third and fourth place playoff this morning.
Fiji lost out in the cup semifinal going down to New Zealand 12-10 earlier this morning.
The All Blacks 7s team went on to win the England 7s title, beating Australia 52-33 in the cup final.
The win also saw New Zealand claim their 12th IRB 7s title in 15 years.
New Zealand finished the Series with 180 points followed by South Africa with 152 points, Fiji finished in third place with 144 while England finished fourth with 134 points.
