Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan has stated that Samisoni Viriviri and Benito Masilevu will only make the final 12 member team if they meet the fitness level.

This comes after their surprise inclusion into the 20 member squad that was announced last week.

Speaking to Fijivillage Ryan said Viriviri and Masilevu have proven themselves in the World Sevens Series however they will not be guaranteed a spot in the team.

Ryan added the inclusion of these players will certainly add depth and quality to the team as they will try and maintain their top-four status to qualify for the Olympic Games next year.

Last year Viriviri received the World Sevens Series Best Player Award and was the top try scorer.

Ryan confirms that Viriviri and Masilevu are expected to arrive in the country next Monday.

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team is pooled with Australia, Wales and Portugal and the New Zealand Sevens will be held on the 6th and 7th of next month.
