Former Fiji National Sevens player Jasa Veremalua

Former Fiji National Sevens player Jasa Veremalua has confirmed that he will be joining the San Diego Legion.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Veremalua says that he is yet to get confirmation as to when he will leave for his new team in the United States.

The San Diego Legion is an American professional rugby union team based in San Diego, California.

The team was founded last year and competes in Major League Competition.

Meanwhile, Fiji Airways Men’s National Sevens coach Gareath Baber had earlier revealed that Veremalua is the only player that will not be joining the squad into the 2018-2019 HSBC Sevens series.

Baber has also been scouting players in the local tournament at the Nabukelevu-i-Ra 7's in Kadavu this week as the Fiji Men’s National 7s squad intensify’s as preparations for the Oceania 7s next month pick up.

Fiji is pooled with Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands in the Oceania 7s which will kick off on November 9th at the ANZ Stadium while the Dubai 7s will be held from November 30th.

13 Men’s and 8 Women’s teams will be participating in this year’s Oceania 7s tournament.
