USA Sevens coach Mike Friday has named a 13-man side as part of the travel squad for the Wellington and Sydney 7s.
USA is currently third in the HSBC World Sevens Series, which is their highest ranking ever.
Friday said they are in the ‘Pool of Death’ with Samoa, England and France.
He is expected to name his 12-member team next week.
Fiji-born Andrew Durutalo is not in the team as he will be joining new Japanese Super Rugby club Sunwolves.
Perry Baker, Zack Test, Maka Unufe, Folau Niua and Danny Barrett are some of the regular series campaigners in the USA squad.
The Wellington Sevens is next week Saturday and Sunday.
