Rewa's Setareki Hughes suspended for 4 games and fined $400, Amani Makoe suspended for 3 games and fined $300 and Ba's Samuela Nabenia suspended for 3 matches and fined $300

Two key players of the Rewa soccer team and a top Ba striker have been fined and are set to miss some of the Inkk Mobile BOG matches.

National Team striker, Setareki Hughes has been suspended for four games and fined $400 while midfielder/defender, Amani Makoe has been suspended for three games and fined $300.

Ba’s top marksman, Samuela Nabenia has also been suspended for three matches and fined $300.

Fiji Football Association’s CEO, Mohammed Yusuf says the suspension is effective from last night.

This means that Hughes and Makoe will not feature for Rewa in the group matches of the BOG.

If Rewa manages to reach the semis, then Makoe will be able to feature for the defending champion while Hughes will have to hope that Rewa makes it to the final for him to take the field.

Ba’s Samuela Nabenia will also get to play in the BOG if the Men in Black secure a place in the semis.

These players failed to turn up for the National Team camp earlier this year and appeared before Fiji FA’s independent disciplinary committee last night.

The BOG tournament starts tomorrow where Rewa will play Suva at 1.30pm, Nadi will play Dreketi at 3.30pm, Lautoka will play Tavua at 6pm while Ba will take on Labasa at 8pm.

You can catch the live commentaries of the Suva vs Rewa, Lautoka vs Tavua and Ba vs Labasa matches on Radio Sargam.
