The Tuva Under 19 7s team are aiming to repeat their success of the Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s as they are out to defend their title.
Last year, Kini Naholo the younger brother of All Blacks and Highlanders winger Waisake Naholo, Alivereti Nauga the son of Nadroga coach Esala Nauga along with Iliesa Ratuva who has just signed a contract with the Melbourne Storm were instrumental for the Tuva Under 19 team as they won the Under 19 title.
This year, Tuva coach Sitiveni Kunaika has introduced some players who had featured for Cuvu College, Saint John Cawaci and Queen Victoria School Under 18 last year at the Deans competition.
Tuva is in Pool A with arch-rival Ratu Filise, Togobula and the Lomavata Kangaroos.
The winner of this year’s Under 19 trophy will walk away with $10,000.
The Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s will be held from Wednesday to Saturday at Lawaqa Park.
