Robust Toulon winger Josua Tuisova will put Fiji first in his heart as he joins the campaign to win gold at the Rio Olympics.
Tuisova turned down a lucrative offer from the French Rugby Union to follow his dream in representing his country.
His 3 year stand‑down period expires this Sunday which makes him eligible to play for France after he represented Fiji in 7s in 2013.
Tuisova took the risk instead and declined the French Rugby offer.
He made his decision before his selection to represent Fiji at the Paris 7s in France.
The 22-year-old from Votua, Ba says that Ben Ryan visited the Toulon Rugby Club officials to request him to play for Fiji.
During the Singapore 7s, French winger and fellow Fijian Virimi Vakatawa confirmed that the French Rugby wanted to recruit Tuisova in their national team.
Tuisova says his aim was to help the Fiji 7s team win the gold medal in Rio for his family, especially his elder brother Pio Tuwai.
The former Ratu Navula College centre adds he will be representing his brother Pio Tuwai, his family and his country at the Olympics.
Fiji will take on Brazil in their first Rio Olympics pool game at 4.30am on August 10th, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am before taking on USA at 4.30am on August 11th.
The quarterfinals will start at 8am Thursday August 11th, the semis will start at 5.30am Friday August 12th and the final will kick off at 10am Friday August 12th.
Barring any upsets, Fiji will meet France, Kenya or Argentina in the Medal quarterfinal, Australia or Great Britain in the Medal semifinal and NZ or South Africa in the Gold Medal Final.
