Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach, Gareth Baber says training on an artificial pitch at Uprising Resort will greatly reduce the risk of injury to players.
Baber says the biggest help an artificial pitch has for the team is the consistency of the level of the ground in terms of practicing their restarts.
He says this was one of their biggest failures in both tournaments last month and training on a level pitch develops a player's skill in retaining the restarts without players sustaining any injuries.
Meanwhile, Fiji’s first pool match is against Samoa at 12.57pm next Saturday, they will take on Australia at 6.35pm the same day and play Argentina at 11.57am next Sunday in their last pool match.
