Telecom Fiji Warriors squad named for Uruguay tour

Telecom Fiji Warriors coach Senirusi Seruvakula has named the 35 member of the Telecom Fiji Warriors training squad to prepare for the tour to Uruguay next month.

Seruvakula kept majority of the players from the side that played in the World Rugby Pacific Challenge last month.

The 13 new players that have been called in including Joe Radrodro, Wellington based Api Naikatini, Meli Baivatu, Jonny Dyer, Apenisa Nasilisili, Alivereti Veitokoni, Lepani Seduadua, Sam Speight, Saimoni Tuilaucala, Lepani Raiyala, Josaia Qumi, Kitione Ratu and Tikilaci Vuibau.

Team Manager Dan Domoni said that Japan based Filimoni Koroi and Josua Kerevi have both returned to continue their studies in Japan.

Other players from the Warriors side that have been dropped are Samu Laqai, Samu Cava and new Vodafone Fiji 7's recruit Aminiasi Nava.

Domoni said that they will be playing two matches with the Uruguay World Cup team and one game against the Argentina national team.

He added that this is a good chance for the local players to prove their worth for the national selectors for the Rugby World Cup.

Only 28 players will be selected for the tour.

The Telecom Fiji Warriors is expected to leave the country on the 18th of next month while their first game will be played on May 23rd.
