Fiji Airways Men's National 7s Team Captain Waisea Nacuqu and Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Coach Gareth Baber

Fiji Airways Men's National 7s Team Captain, Waisea Nacuqu says they are very well prepared to retain their Oceania 7s title this year.

Nacuqu has been given the captaincy role for the Oceania 7s as Paula Dranisinukula has been rested by coach Gareth Baber.

Nacuqu says its an honour to captain an experienced Fijian side in a tournament such as the Oceania 7s.

He says with most of the senior players rested, he will rely on experienced players such as Vice Captain, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Josua Vakurunabili, Meli Derenalagi and Aminiasi Tuimaba to lead by example in the field for the young players.

Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber says Nacuqu is one of the most experienced players in the team tand that is why he is moulding Nacuqu to be in the leadership role.

Fiji will play Niue at 1.34pm today, their second game is against Japan SDS at 7.26pm today, Fiji plays New Caledonia at 3.02pm on Friday before playing the final pool game against New Zealand at 7.26pm Friday.
