Tabakaucoro wins the 200m final at the Pacific Games

Banuve Tabakaucoro has won the 200 metres race at the Pacific Games in sensational style as he beat Samoa’s Jeremy Dodson in a closely contested final.

Tabakaucoro clocked a time of 20.87 seconds. He failed to break his record of 20.53 that he set in 2015.

He also won the 100 metres race with a record time of 10.31 seconds on Tuesday.

Tabakaucoro has now won the 100 and 200 metres title at the Pacific Games for the third successive time.

Meanwhile, Heleina Young had to settle for silver in the Women’s 200 metres race.

Toea Wisil won gold with a time of 23.45 seconds.
