With one more sleep to the 42nd Fiji Bitter Marist 7s, defending champion Tabadamu Blue are aiming for their fourth successive title.
Laced with former national players, Tabadamu Blue has been winning the Marist 7s tournament since 2015.
Former 7s captain Setefano Cakau is heavily involved in putting together the Tabadamu side which includes players like Nasoni Roko, Tevita Batiratu, Samu Bale and playmaker Teri Tamani.
Tabadamu beat Army Green 24‑14 last year to win the final.
Meanwhile Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s new find Sakeo Raloa is expected to feature for the Police 7s team while Ratu Filise 7s coach Etika Tovilevu is hoping that they will get the services of Amenoni Nasilasila this weekend.
Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Gareth Baber will be releasing some of his players to play for their clubs this weekend.
64 men’s teams,12 Women’s and 8 Oldies teams will be participating this weekend.
Some of the top teams that will be featuring include defending champions Tabadamu, Ratu Filise, Wardens, First Light Taveuni, Police, Army and Saunaka.
The total prize money is $42,000 with the main cup winner to walk away with $11,000 while the runner-up will get $5,000.
Marist rugby President Lawrence Tikaram says the bottom 16 teams will also each receive $120.
The Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be held tomorrow and Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
