Swire Shipping Fijian Latui Head Coach Senirusi Seruvakula says that the players have been working hard to adapt to the rules of the game as they prepare to take on Kagifa Samoa in the Global Rapid Rugby competition next Saturday.

The competition is a fast pace rugby, played for 70 minutes and has time limits for scrum for 1 minute and lineouts for 45 seconds to set, plus the team is awarded a straight nine points power try for attacks launched within 22 meters of the scoring team’s own try line.

Seruvakula says that players are also not allowed to kick from the 22 meter line however, there is also rolling subs which is good.

He says that tournament officials were in Fiji last week to work with the Fijian Latui on the rules of the game and players are getting to understand the game but adds that it is going to be tested next Saturday against Kagifa Samoa.

Latui kick off the Pacific Showcase against Kagifa Samoa in Lautoka next Saturday, before hosting Western Force a week later.
