Suva come out on top in Badminton as they continue to lead Fiji Games medal tally

In the second last day of competition, Suva continues to lead the 2019 Fiji Games with 43 gold, 52 silver, and 32 bronze medals.

Nadi is now in second place with 23 gold, 16 silver and 19 bronze, Rotuma is in third place with 17 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze while in fourth place is Naitasiri with 9 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze.

Suva managed to finish at the top dominating in the Badminton competitions during the Fiji Games at the Yat Sen Hall.

It was a close finish as Suva won 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals, edging Rotuma who won 2 gold and 1 bronze.

Finishing in third place was Lami with 1 gold, while Nasinu and Lautoka tied at fourth place with a 1 silver and 1 bronze medal respectively.

Competition controller Andra Whiteside said the Fiji Games was a successful event for Badminton as not only did players step up their game but there were also a few upsets.

Whiteside adds that this is also the last trial for the Pacific Games and everyone stepped up which was really great to see, everyone played some really good badminton and they were in great spirits.
