“Stop playing long balls, keep possession and move the ball around.”
Striker, Setareki Hughes says Vodafone National soccer coach, Christophe Gamel has continuously stressed this to them as they get ready to face Solomon Islands tonight in an International Friendly.
Hughes who was named the 2016 Fiji FA Footballer of the Year will play an instrumental role in Fiji’s attack as Roy Krishna will not feature against Solomon’s tonight.
Gamel will rely on players like Hughes, Iosefo Verevou, Ravinesh Karan Singh and Napolioni Qasevakatini to find the back of Solomon’s goalmouth.
Hughes says it is very important for him to lift his game at this stage of his soccer career.
Fiji will play Solomon Islands at 7 tonight at the ANZ Stadium while the second match will be played at 3pm this Sunday at Churchill Park and you can catch the live commentaries of both matches on our sister station, Radio Sargam.
