Manchester City's forward Raheem Sterling has won an award for his stance against racism in football at the BT Sport Industry Awards.
The England forward says he hopes to set an example for younger players as he received the award.
Sterling has criticised newspapers' portrayal of black players and wants stronger punishments for fans who racially abuse players.
The 24-year-old added that he was just speaking about his personal experiences and didn't expect it to get so much attention.
In January, it was revealed that Sterling wrote a letter to a young City fan who was racially abused, urging the supporter to stand tall and not to let anyone take away their courage.
