S’Busiso Nkosi will replace the injured Cheslin Kolbe

The Springboks have made one change to the side that beat Japan in the quarterfinals with Cheslin Kolbe ruled out due to injury.

Kolbe suffered an ankle injury in South Africa’s 49-3 victory over Italy earlier in the tournament and was rested for their final group match against Canada.

He did play in the quarter-final against Japan last week but was replaced in the 71st minute and has reportedly been unable to train since.

S’Busiso Nkosi is being called in to replace him on the wing.

Nkosi has started twice during the 2019 Rugby World Cup, against Namibia and Canada, scoring one try against Canada.

Erasmus says it is disappointing not to have Cheslin available as he has been a brilliant addition to the team but Nkosi is a brilliant player also and Erasmus is excited to see what the 23-year-old can do.

Meanwhile, Wales is expected to name their team today with Liam Williams ruled out due to injury.

England will face the All Blacks at 8pm tomorrow and Wales will play South Africa at 9pm Sunday.

South Africa: 15 Willie Le Roux, 14 S'Busiso Nkosi, 13 Lukhanyo Am, 12 Damian de Allende, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Handre Pollard, 9 Faf de Klerk, 1 Tendai Mtawarira, 2 Mbongeni Mbonambi, 3 Frans Malherbe, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 5 Lood de Jager, 6 Siya Kolisi (capt), 7 Pieter-Steph Du Toit, 8 Duane Vermeulen.

Replacements: Malcolm Marx, Steven Kitshoff, Vincent Koch, RG Snyman, Franco Mostert, Francois Louw, Herschel Jantjies, Frans Steyn.
