South Africa’s 7s coach, Neil Powell has added Lions star Hacjivah Dayimani to his squad for the Cape Town Sevens which kicks off this Saturday.
The Blitzboks returned home having bagged the opening leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai.
The 22-year-old will take the place of Christi Grobbelaar who travelled with the Blitzboks to Dubai as the 13th player.
Dayimani will have to wait to hear whether he will be part of the final 12-man squad - potentially at the expense of either Chris Dry or Ryan Oosthuizen - when Powell confirms his final squad for the tournament on Thursday.
South Africa is pooled with Fiji, Japan and USA.
South Africa will face Fiji at 12.51am Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals of the Cape Town 7s starts at 10.18pm Sunday while the Cup semifinals kick off at 1.39am next Monday.
The Cup final of the Cape Town 7s will kick off at 5.56am Monday.
