The Samoa government will be hosting a special welcome for the WBO world heavyweight boxing champion, Joseph Parker with a half day commission holiday starting at midday today.
The Cabinet announced the event after Parker and his parents arrived in the country on Sunday.
The programme will kick off with a variety of entertainment in front of the government building in the capital, organised by Digicel.
Samoa Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi will also speak to the crowd, followed by Duco Events founder and director David Higgins and Parker himself.
The finale will be a big feast funded by the government.
