Saint Joseph Secondary School gunning to retain Suva Zone 2 title

Saint Joseph’s Secondary School will be gunning to retain their title in the Suva Zone 2 tomorrow.

Last year, Saint Joseph’s showed their class and went on to win the title edging out rivals Suva Grammar School.

This year, national rep Helena Young will be carrying their hopes of securing two medals in the intermediate girls 100 metres and 400 metres after winning silver last year.

Another athlete, Louisa Tubailagi will be taking part in the Junior Girls 100 and 200 meters.

In the field events, Avelina Navue who won gold last year will be taking part in the Junior Girls long jump while Tarairi Erasito will be taking part in the intermediate girls shot put after winning two gold medals in last year's Coca‑Cola Games.

Saint Joseph’s Secondary School and Marist Brothers High School are the Suva Zone 2 defending champions.

Some of the other schools that will be taking part tomorrow are Suva Grammar School, Gospel High School, Yat Sen Secondary School, Jai Narayan College and Nabua Secondary School.
