The Saint John’s College Under 18 rugby team is well on track to create history in this year’s Coke Zero Deans competition.
After demolishing Nasinu Secondary School 20-9 in their quarter final clash, the boys from Cawaci are looking forward to having another go at their rivals Queen Victoria School who they are familiar with from the Eastern Zone.
Early this year, Cawaci beat QVS 21-8 in round three of the competition while the two teams met in the Under 17 final last year with QVS clinching a 12-6 win.
Three players who are outstanding for the Saint John’s side include their flyhalf Gideon Colatanatawake, outside center Ratu Matemosi Volauca and lock Viliame Tivau.
Volauca scored a try against Nasinu and set up another for Colatanatawake with an offload.
Saint John’s College will take on QVS in the second semifinal while Ratu Kadavulevu School will face Cuvu College in the first semi.
The times for the semifinals will be confirmed later today.
The Coke Zero Deans semis will be held this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentaries of both Coke Zero Deans semifinals on our sister station, Viti FM on 92.2FM.
