The Sydney Roosters have survived a major fightback and troubling injury toll to hold off the Raiders 30‑24 in an NRL Magic Round thriller.
Roosters winger Daniel Tupou was carried from the field and taken to hospital with a neck injury.
Superstar centre Latrell Mitchell also sent a scare through the Tricolours and NSW State of Origin camps when he went down with a groin injury in the first half.
Mitchell scored two tries to set up a 24‑6 halftime lead.
In another NRL match played last night, the Rabbitohs defeated the Cowboys 32‑16.
At the end of round 9 of the NRL Competition, the Roosters lead the points table with 16 points and also with 16 points are the Rabbitohs in second place, the Storm are in third place with 14 points while in fourth place are the Raiders with 12 points.
In this week’s matches, the Storm take on the Wests Tigers at 9.5pm Thursday.
On Friday, the Panthers face the Warriors at 8pm while the Broncos meet the Roosters at 9.55pm. On Saturday, the Titans take on the Bulldogs at 5pm, the Cowboys face the Eels at 7.30pm while the Raiders will play the Rabbitohs at 9.35pm.
