Chiefs co-captain Brodie Retallick will return to the Super Rugby competition this week when they will face the Rebels in Melbourne.
Having missed the last eight weeks with an injured wrist, Retallick will return to the Chiefs' starting side this weekend ‑ with the side needing a win at the very least to book their spot in the Super Rugby playoffs.
Speaking to media in Hamilton today, Retallick says it has been a long eight weeks, but he is definitely excited to take the field against the Rebels.
He adds that the eight weeks has been kind of good in hindsight especially around his fitness and his physique.
Retallick and Sam Cane will co‑captain the Chiefs against the Rebels in Melbourne this Friday at 9.45pm.
In Super Rugby this week, the Highlanders will take on the Waratahs at 7.35pm Friday, the Jaguares will face the Sunwolves at 10.10am Saturday, the Hurricanmes will host the Blues at 7.35 pm Saturday, the Brumbies will take on the Reds at 9.45pm Saturday, the Stormers will face the Sharks at 1.05am Sunday while the Bulls will host the Lions at 3.15am Sunday.
