Flying Fijians and Nadroga prop Peni Ravai

“When you dream of something, follow it until you achieve it.”

Those were the words of Vodafone Flying Fijians and Nadroga prop Peni Ravai who will be representing Fiji for the first time at the Rugby World Cup in England next month.

Ravai who hails from Natuva village in Tailevu said if it wasn’t for his late father, he would not have achieved his dream to become a good rugby player.

Ravai’s father, the late Reverend Saula Kovekalou who passed away in 2011, used to look after the Navosa District Methodist Church.

His wish was for Ravai to stay in Nadroga and continue to pursue his dream to play for the Stallions.

Ravai started playing rugby at the Namena District School.

He also played for RKS up to the Under 19 level.

Ravai also represented the national sevens team to the Las Vegas 7's in 2013.

The Vodafone Flying Fijians will leave for England next Monday.

They will play Canada in a warm up match on the 6th of next month before taking on England at 7am on the 19th of next month in the opening Rugby World Cup.
