Esava Ratugolea is the second Fijian player to be picked in a top Aussie Rules professional team.
The Geelong draftee knows he will draw the inevitable comparisons to fellow Fijian high‑flyer Nic Naitanui.
But the 18-year‑old, taken by the Cats with pick 43 on Friday night, wants to carve out his own name in the game.
Ratugolea has only been playing Aussie rules footy for the past four years after spending his early years kicking a soccer ball around.
But with his raw athleticism and size, he quickly captured the attention of the Murray Bushrangers recruiters and has spent two years in the TAC Cup system.
