The Canberra Raiders proved they are genuine premiership contenders with a powerful 22‑8 win over Melbourne Storm last night.
Canberra's attack and Melbourne's defence was the key match‑up heading into the game, but it was the Raiders' defence that played a key part in the victory.
The Raiders secured the win through two tries to Joseph Leilua and a try to Darius Boyd.
Cooper Cronk scored Melbourne Storm's only try in the match.
There are only three rounds left before the premiership finals.
After Round 23, Melbourne Storm leads the NRL ladder with 38 points, the Sharks are second with 37 points while Raiders sit in third place with 33 points.
Round 24 will kick off on Thursday when the Broncos face the Bulldogs at 9.50pm.
