Rugby giants RKS and QVS are looking to make their presence felt in this year’s National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship.

Basketball Fiji Sports Development Officer, Kenneth Taliu has confirmed that schools are still registering for the Championships that will begin on the 20th of this month.

He adds that interest in basketball has grown and following sports clinics conducted in schools throughout the country it is very encouraging for Basketball Fiji that schools that are a threat in rugby are looking to also stamp their mark in basketball.

Taliu says that the competition will have three grades in the U15, U17 and U19 for both the boys and girls divisions.

He says with registrations closing tomorrow, some big schools that have registered so far include, U19 defending champions, Saint John's College, Tilak High School, Yat Sen Secondary School, Natabua High School, SVC, QVS and first timers RKS.

The National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship will be held from the 20th to the 22nd of this month at the FMF Gymnasium.
