The Queen is mourning the loss of Jonah Lomu.
Standing outside Lomu's Auckland home, NZ rugby great John Hart said Prime Minister John Key had sent Lomu's wife a message from the Queen.
Hart said they'd received messages of condolences from all corners of the world.
A public service will be held to celebrate Lomu's life.
Details are yet to be confirmed but Eden Park in Auckland was being considered as a venue.
Hart said they hoped to confirm details on Monday.
The family would hold a private funeral and burial service.
