QVS wins the Vodafone Super Deans over RKS 13-12

Queen Victoria School has defeated Ratu Kadavulevu School 13‑12 in a major upset at Lawaqa Park in the Under 18 final of the Vodafone Super Deans Secondary Schools Rugby Competition.

It was QVS fullback Ratu Rusiate who delivered the win for his team through a penalty in the 63rd minute of the match.

QVS last won the Deans Trophy in 2016.

In front of a packed crowd, the two teams fought till the end.

RKS led 7‑3 at halftime.

The first try in the match came from RKS through flyhalf Sanaila Daliga which was followed by a good conversion by fullback Everoni Koroibiau.

QVS put their first points on the board through a penalty kick by fullback Ratu Rusiate.

Replacement halfback Sefanaia Kaivei scored the first try for QVS.

QVS was also denied a try after the referee ruled that winger Rusiate Dolokoto's foot was in touch.

Former Flying Fijians Captain Alivereti Doviverata was a technical adviser for QVS.

Ba Provincial Freebird Institute has beaten Saint John’s College 35‑12 in the Under 19 final of the Vodafone Super Deans Secondary Schools Rugby Competition at Lawaqa Park.

Suva Grammar School made another big upset in the Under 17 grade after thrashing Queen Victoria School 30‑17.

Suva Grammar School also defeated Ratu Kadavulevu School 17‑8 in the final of the Under 14 grade.

Queen Victoria School beat Ratu Kadavulevu School 12‑5 in the Under 16 final.

Ratu Kadavulevu School defeated Queen Victoria School 27‑8 in the final of the Under 15 grade.
