Defending Coca-Cola Zero Deans champion Queen Victoria School (QVS) will have to wait until Wednesday afternoon to know whether captain and national U-19 rep Kini Murimurivalu will be available for Saturday's quarterfinal against Suva Grammar.
Murimurivalu missed the U-20 World Cup because of a knee injury but returned to lead QVS in the last two wins against Lelean Memorial School and Saint John Cawaci.
QVS who finished in 3rd spot from the Eastern Zone lost to RKS and Lelean in the opening rounds where their inspirational captain was sidelined because of injury.
This Saturday the side will have the services of 6 players who were part of the Fiji U-20 team to the World Cup.
Meanwhile, this week’s Deans quarterfinals will start on Friday at 8am with the Tier 2 competition.
For the first time, schools from the North like Holy Cross Secondary from Taveuni, Labasa College, Saint Bedes and Nadogo Secondary School will be part of the Tier 2 competition.
Gates at the National Stadium on Friday will open at 8am and on Saturday at 8.30am for the Tier 1 quarterfinals.
In the U-19 grade, Lelean will take on Marist, RKS faces Lomawai Secondary School, Ratu Navula up against Nasinu and in the feature match at 3.30pm, QVS will play Suva Grammar.
