All Blacks captain, Kieran Read says prior forms means nothing when it comes to the Rugby World Cup.

Read stated this after the All Blacks Rugby World Cup welcome ceremony at the Zojoji Temple in Tokyo which he adds that it is about turning up and putting your best foot forward and now every team has got the same chance as everyone else.

Read is in his last campaign with the All Blacks during this World Cup but he has managed to win both his previous two tournaments.

Read told allblacks.com that they would not part of this tournament if they did not really relish those opportunities to play at the highest level, and the World Cup is the highest level.

He says the combination of players of they’ve got is well balanced with a number of players who have been around for a while and also new players who are pretty fantastic in their own game.

Read will be joining Japanese Top League club, Toyota Verblitz after the Rugby World Cup.

All Blacks coach, Steve Hansen stated that this week will be focused on their match with the  Springboks, a game that will likely determine who tops their pool.

The All Blacks will face the Springboks at 9.45pm this Saturday.
