English Premier League teams have spent a record 1.17 billion pounds in the summer transfer window so far.
The 20 clubs in the top division beat the previous record of 1.16 billion pounds set last summer and with a few more days remaining for the transfer window to close the number is expected to rise.
Major summer buys have included Manchester United's 75 million pounds move for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, while Manchester City have spent 221.5 million pounds on reinforcements.
This transfer window has seen the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and Everton break their club record transfer fees.
