Aaron Powell of Gospel High School has broken the Intermediate boy’s 200 metres record of the Suva Zone two athletics meet.
Powell set a new record of 21.32 seconds breaking Waisale Ledua's old time of 22.17 seconds.
Powell also won the gold medal in the 100 metres final with a time of 10.79 seconds.
Powell said his training has been consistent so far.
In the senior boys 100 metres final Elenoa Sailosi's twin brother Vilisoni Rarasea of Marist Brothers High School won gold in a time of 10.65 seconds while Kemueli Waqa of Suva Grammar School won the senior boy’s 200 metres final.
Meanwhile, Sisilia Seavula of Saint Joseph's Secondary won the senior girl’s 100 and 200 metres final.
Seavula clocked a time of 12.51 seconds in the 100 metres and 25.69 seconds in the 200 metres event.
Seavula said anyone can achieve their dreams if they focus on it.
The 4x400 metres final is currently underway at the ANZ Stadium.
