Former Vodafone Flying Fijians coach Ilivasi Tabua believes the Vodafone Fiji 7s team can win the New Zealand 7s tournament this weekend if they control possession.
While naming the 12 players last week, coach Ben Ryan believes this team has pace and power to go up against core teams such as host New Zealand, World Sevens Series points leaders South Africa and Australia.
On the other hand, Tabua said Fiji has been losing to Australia in the last two legs after they failed to keep possession and control the game.
Meanwhile South Africa Sevens coach Neil Powell has kept his focus on his side to be consistent and not get carried away by their lead in the World Series.
Powell said they will build on their momentum and achieve the team goals they have set for themselves.
The New Zealand 7s kicks off this Friday with Fiji taking on Portugal at 12.03pm, face Wales at 2.58pm before taking on Australia at 5.54pm in their last pool game.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 12.28pm Saturday, the Cup semifinals will be at 4.12pm while the Cup final kicks off at 7.55pm Saturday.
