Almost 3 million people have signed online petitions to use Kobe Bryant's image as the new logo for the National Basketball Association.
This follows the death of the Los Angeles Lakers great in a helicopter crash in California that killed nine people on Monday.
There is celebrity power to the move at Change.org with the petition already signed by Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber and Usher.
Jerry's logo should be hung up on the rafters in every nba coliseum. He was the OG since '69...but that was a different time. I think its a fitting time to talk about a new logo and replace it with this, and I know Jerry would co-sign it: #NBAchangetheLogo #KobeTheNewNBALogo #NBA https://t.co/uGqnjEMUV2

The famous NBA logo started in 1969 and features the silhouette of fellow Lakers great and Basketball Hall of Famer Jerry West dribbling a ball with his left hand.
Bryant was a one-team player. He retired in 2016, having played all 20 of his NBA seasons with the Lakers, winning five championships.
