Hurricanes half back, TJ Perenara claims that his side was robbed of a penalty in the final seconds of last night's Super Rugby semifinal defeat by the Crusaders after Sam Whitelock illegally played the ball.
Perenara says referee Nic Berry missed Whitelock's action, instead referee Berry ruled that he had knocked the ball on.
He says the ref cannot see everything during a game and he made the call that it was a knock on.
The All Blacks half back stated that sometimes we can expect a penalty from such an incident but it is what it is in a game of rugby.
The Crusaders were then awarded a scrum, allowing them to kick for the sideline and hold on to their 30‑26 win which confirms their place in next Saturday's final against the Jaguares.
The Crusaders will host the Jaguares in Christchurch at 7.35pm in the Super Rugby final.
