Paul Gallen will become the 29th player to play 300 NRL games this Friday.

Gallen recalls trying to chip and chase in his debut game against the Eels in 2001 and wondering what the coach was saying about him in the coaching box.

Current Sharks coach Shane Flanagan has labelled him Cronulla's greatest player.

Gallen and his Sharks team will play the Broncos at 9.50pm Friday.
