Panthers great Brad Fittler says that the Penrith Panthers only have themselves to blame for their disastrous NRL season start.
NSW Blues Coach Fittler claimed the Panthers showed "not much resilience" and hinted that Penrith's incumbent Blues halves James Maloney and Nathan Cleary were on the State of Origin team lists.
Penrith coach Ivan Cleary is reeling after counting the cost of Saturday's 30‑12 loss to Canberra ‑ their fourth straight defeat.
At the end of round 8 of the NRL competition, the Roosters are leading the points table with 14 points, in second place are the Rabbitohs also with 14 points, the Raiders are in third place with 12 points while the Storm are in fourth place also with 12 points.
