The Fiji Men’s soccer team will be playing New Caledonia in the next hour, in what will be their final game at the Pacific Mini Games.

Fiji currently has 8 points after four matches and are guaranteed a medal finish in the games.

Vanuatu and Solomon Islands are first and second respectively with ten points each.

If Fiji beats New Caledonia by more than five goals and the Vanuatu and Solomon Islands match finishes in a draw then Fiji will win the gold medal.

However if there is a winner in the Vanuatu and Solomon Islands match, that team will win the gold medal.

Meanwhile, Fiji’s top amateur boxer Winston Hill lost to Tonga’s Sione Modeni in the semi final.

Aaron Powell finished fifth in the 200 metres race while Mustafa Fall settled for silver in the Men’s Shot Put competition.

Archer Robert Elder won gold in the Recurve competition, Fred and Lisa Leota settled for silver in the Compound mix team while Lisa settled for silver in the Compound Women and Fred settled for Silver in the Compound Men’s event.

The closing ceremony will be held tonight.
