One step away: Tavua soccer team close to getting promoted to the Premier competition

The Tavua soccer team is just a step away from getting promoted to the Premier competition.

Once Tavua used to win major soccer tournaments, however the side was relegated to the senior competition a few years ago.

But Tavua now has a chance to play in the top competition as the Westerners will play Seaqaqa in a two-match playoff and the winner will automatically qualify to the top competition.

Tavua has topped the Viti Levu Senior competition with 24 points while Seaqaqa is the Vanua Levu winner.

The playoffs will be played next weekend.
