Cheering flag waving crowds in the Chinese capital, Beijing, have been watching the Olympic torch on the final leg of its global relay.
800 torch bearers will carry the flame to city landmarks ahead of tomorrow night's opening ceremony.
The torch has travelled 140,000km through six continents since it left Greece on 24th March.
Overseas, the relay was marked by protests over China's human rights record and its policies in Tibet.
Meanwhile, host China beat Sweden 2-1 as the women's football tournament brought the first action of the 2008 Olympic Games.
Norway caused the biggest upset beating defending champion US 2-0 and Brazil held World Champion Germany to a goalless draw.
For Team Fiji, the first event that they will be taking part in will be shooting with Glen Kable on Saturday and Sunday.
Yesterday, flag bearer Makelesi Bulikiobo and her coach Lloyd Way arrived at the Team Fiji Games Village.
The 2008 Beijing Olympics will officially start tomorrow night at 10 o'clock.
