Niusawa Methodist High School wins Taveuni Zone

Niusawa Methodist High School has won the 2016 Taveuni Athletics Zone after winning both the girls and boys division.

Niusawa won the boys division with 35 Gold, 20 Silver and 15 Bronze.

They also won the girls division with 28 Gold, 18 Silver and 14 Bronze.

Organiser Pio Qerewaqa says after the competition, athletes joined hands and formed the shape of a heart to remember those affected by Cyclone Winston.

He says a total of 12 records were broken in the two‑day competition.

Ratu Lavisai Kabakoro of Niusawa Methodist High School was the most outstanding male athlete as he won the 200m, Senior boys triple jump and 4x100m relay.

Lorosia Lutunawasa of Niusawa Methodist High School was the most outstanding female athlete as she won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.

The Coca‑Cola Games will be held from the 28th to the 30th of next month at the ANZ Stadium.
