Fiji born Australian weightlifter, Eileen Cikamatana says her next big target is the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.

Cikamatamana stated this after she did not qualify to represent Australia to next year’s Olympic Games in Japan.

Cikamatana who changed allegiance early this year is making headlines around the globe for her record-breaking performances.

She not only won a gold medal in the snatch and total, but she also beat the 2018 world weightlifting champion from China and set a junior world record in the clean and jerk with a lift of 151kg.

Cikamatana says that her aim for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2024 Olympic Games in France is to get a medal rather than just competing.

She says her situation regarding Fiji is in the past and she would not want to talk about it.

Cikamatana broke 46 weightlifting records, including three world records.

Cikamatana broke seven snatch records with her 114kg lift in the 87kg category, then crashed multiple records with an astonishing 155kg clean and jerk to claim two junior world records for a combined total of 269kg.

She is now the No.1 junior weightlifter in her category in the world by a whopping 50 kilograms.

Cikamatana, who won gold for Fiji in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, decided not to represent Fiji after a dispute with Weightlifting Fiji when they hired an international coach against her wishes and tried to force athletes to return to Fiji to train.
