Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team Coach, Gareth Baber says newcomer, Kavekini Tabu has a no-nonsense approach to the way he plays.
Baber says that Tabu has worked hard, is physical, robust and his accuracy in tackles have impressed him and the other officials.
Tabu joins brothers Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Isoa Tabu in the 14 member team for the Dubai and Cape Town 7s.
Baber has also selected captain Paula Dranisinukula, Jerry Tuwai, Vilimoni Botitu, Meli Derenalagi, Aminiasi Tuimaba, Alasio Naduva, Terio Tamani, Josua Vakurunabili, Waisea Nacuqu, Apenisa Cakaubalavu and Napolioni Bolaca.
Fiji is pooled with France, Argentina, and Japan.
Fiji’s first pool match is against Japan at 4.02am next Friday, Fiji will then take on Argentina at 10.04pm the same night and they will face France in their last match at 4.02am next Saturday.
Barring any upsets, Fiji is likely to meet South Africa, England or Kenya in the quarter-final, they can face South Africa or France in the semi-final and is likely to meet New Zealand or the USA in the final of the Dubai 7s.
