It is one of the worst weekend in rugby for the Fiji team as the National Under 20 side lost their opening Junior World Championship this morning going down 44-11 to New Zealand in Argentina.
After the Flying Fijians lost 49-3 to the Wallabies last night, the Fiji U-20 had no answer when they took on two-time defending champions New Zealand.
It was the first time the two teams have met in the tournament's history, both having enjoyed contrasting fortunes in the two previous Tournaments.
Fiji captain Severo Domoni, the son of national coach Sam Domoni, noted that his side tried to restore some pride in their game but the All Blacks had too much power in what looked like a one sided affair game.
The Fiji U-20 side will have to lift their performance in their second pool game against Wales.
The side just managed to score a lone try from Christopher John Nasiganiyavi and fly-half Josh Matavesi kicked two penalties in the 11 points to 44 defeat.
New Zealand crossed Fiji try line five times which also gave them a bonus points and now leads Pool A with 5 points.
In other Pool A game Wales beat Samoa 22-13 and are in second spot in the point table with 4 points.
Fiji's next game is against Wales on Thursday.
