Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Captain Kalione Nasoko and speedster Alasio Naduva have both been named in the 2018 Cape Town 7s Dream Team.

This follows a clinical display by Fiji to win the Cape Town 7s final 29-15 this morning for the first time.

Fiji had earlier defeated Spain in their quarterfinal 46-7 and later beat hosts South Africa in their semifinal 17-12 early this morning.

The Fiji side has drastically improved their defence when compared to last week’s games but discipline is still a lingering issue for the side as they had received a total of 3 yellow cards throughout the tournament.

Fiji’s last win in South Africa was in the George 7s in 2005.

Nasoko who achieved his first victory as captain carried his side unbeaten throughout the whole tournament.

The rest of the players named in the dream team are Madison Hughes, Danny Barrett, David Afamasaga, Sione Molia and Rosko Specman.

Nasoko was also named alongside former Captain Jerry Tuwai as the DHL Impact Players of the Tournament.

The third round of the HSBC 7s Series will be played in Hamilton from the 26th to the 27th of next month.

Fiji is now in third place on the 2018/2019 Series Standings with 35 points.

USA leads the series standings with 38 points, New Zealand is in second place with 37 points, England in fourth place with 30 points and South Africa is in fifth place with 29 points.
