Naiyala High School and Wainibuka Secondary School claim first gold medals of Tailevu Zone

The Tailevu Zone is now underway at the ANZ Stadium.

Naiyala High School and Wainibuka Secondary School claimed the first gold medals of the Tailevu Zone yesterday.

Titilia Sovanatabua of Naiyala Secondary School won the 3000 metres Girls Open Grade while Atama Vunibola of Wainibuka Secondary won the 3000m Boys Open Grade with a time of 9 minutes 51 seconds.

Other events held yesterday were the 400m heats and the first rounds of selected field events.

The rest of the Tailevu Zone events will be held today at the ANZ Stadium.

RKS is the defending champion in the Boys Division in the Tailevu Zone while Tailevu North College is the defending champion in the Girls Division. 

Other schools taking part are Saint Vincent College, Dawasamu Secondary School and Queen Victoria School. 

Meanwhile the Coca-Cola Games will be held from the 20th to the 22nd of next month.
