The Nadi soccer team has filed a protest against the Lautoka soccer team for fielding two players who they claim were not properly cleared by the Fiji Football Association.
Nadi had lost that match 6-0 last week at Churchill Park.
The Nadi Soccer team claims that two Lautoka players were suspended by Fiji FA for allegedly using illicit substances.
Fiji FA CEO Mohammed Yusuf has confirmed that one player was tested and confirmed positive for illicit drugs by the Lautoka team themselves while the other player was tested and also confirmed positive for illicit drugs during a tournament.
He says they will have to investigate after which the board will decide on the protest when it meets later this month or early next month.
Meanwhile, Lautoka leads the 2020 Vodafone Premier League points table with 6 points.
